At the moment there are lots of ways to access information about Feldenkrais Method in the media and perhaps a new awareness may be building.
You may be aware of the Review of the Australian Government Rebate on Private Health Insurance for Natural Therapies being undertaken by The Department of Health with assistance from the Office of the National Health and Medical Research Council.
The Australian Feldenkrais Guild has been presenting the case for the Feldenkrais Method in the Review. As a way of creating additional support, we have set up an online petition on Change.Org for everyone to sign.

New Year Resolutions ... are you a believer in making resolutions for the future at the beginning of each year?
The holiday season is a time for family and fun, but also for some, a time of solitude and sadness. I always appreciate the time and space to reflect on the old year, to rejuvenate and recreate; to appreciate where I am in my life and consider how I might 'walk my talk' more fully.
I'm not good at grand plans and comprehensive vision ... and have found that my way of setting myself up for the year ahead is more to do with reflection on the questions:
- Where do I want to put my attention and spend my time?
- What is the attitude I want to bring to my life?
- And during this process I want to know enough about what I want and also leave enough space for not knowing how it is all going to come together.
What do you do? And where and how do you want to spend your time and energy? The Field of Action series this term will have these questions in the foreground to begin with and in the background throughout.
In Feldenkrais lessons we draw on cognitive and somatic knowledge and intuition to guide us. As you know, I find that the movement itself has biomechanical integrity for a physically active life as well as providing space for the emergence of creativity and playing with 'movement as metaphor'.
