Enlarging the Envelope 2
In Feldenkrais lessons we pay attention to small movements, to the small differences in what seem initially like aimless explorations. How do these discrete movements fit into a movement pattern? How does this movement pattern relate to action and the way you live, the activities you pursue?
This term, we will again pay attention to what we mean by rest, work and play, but this time noticing how they are interrelated. This troika may be present in all activities and being able to switch between them in the moment can change our experience. How can we enlarge the envelope to encompass more of ourselves?
You create the flexibility of mind to allow you to recover movements that have been reduced or eliminated from your repertoire. Moving within your comfort level you will better learn about your abilities and then extend them to realise the possibilities of human movement. |
